Wine tourism and cava cellars in the Penedès
Autolux has its offices in Vilafranca del Penedès, in the heart of the wine region, and we know the roads between the vineyards and cellars well. Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the capital of cava, and Vilafranca are the usual starting points for visiting cava and wine cellars, many of which offer tours with tastings that are best booked in advance.
Travelling with a driver is the most comfortable way to enjoy wine tourism: nobody in the group has to drive after the tastings, and you can visit two or three cellars in a single day. The trip can be combined with lunch in the area or a stop at Montserrat or Sitges, depending on the hours you book.
How we plan the day
Before the tour, we ask for the places you want to visit, any ticket or tour times you have already booked and the pick-up point. With this information we propose a realistic schedule, allowing for driving times and time at each stop, so the day does not feel rushed and you arrive at each place on time.
If you arrive by cruise ship at the Port of Barcelona, we can collect you at the terminal and fit the tour around the time you need to be back on board. The chauffeur is not an official tour guide, but drives calmly, knows the routes and speaks more than one language. If you want a guide, you can hire one separately and the chauffeur will coordinate with them.
Vehicles and pricing for tours
For couples or small families, the Business category (Mercedes E-Class or Audi A6) is comfortable for a full day on the road, and Electric (Tesla Model S) is an option for anyone who prefers an electric vehicle. For groups of up to 8 people, the Top-Van lets everyone travel together. For a special occasion there is the Top category.
The price of the tour depends on the route, the hours and the vehicle, and it is confirmed when you book. There is no meter and no extra charge for kilometres driven during the day. Hotels and agencies that organise tours for their guests can have invoices issued by reference or by end client.
