What having a chauffeur at your disposal means

On a standard transfer, the chauffeur takes you from one point to another and the service ends. With the hourly service, the vehicle and chauffeur are reserved for you for a set period: they take you to your first appointment, wait nearby, collect you when you come out and carry on to the next address, without you having to book each leg separately.

This option makes sense when your day has several stops or when you do not know exactly how long each one will take. There is no need to look for parking, call a taxi between meetings or carry shopping bags from place to place. The chauffeur knows the city and its access routes, and plans the route around the order of your appointments.

Typical uses for a chauffeur by the hour

Many clients book us by the hour for a day of meetings in Barcelona, with appointments in the 22@ district, on Passeig de Gràcia and along the Diagonal. It is also common for visiting factories, warehouses or building sites on industrial estates in the Vallès, Baix Llobregat or Penedès, where public transport is limited and parking can be difficult.

For private clients, the hourly service is used for shopping days in central Barcelona or at La Roca Village, for viewing several properties in one morning, or for looking after family members or guests for the day. In every case, the chauffeur wears a suit and tie and works with discretion.

How to plan the hours you book

To plan the service properly, it helps to know the start time and place, the addresses you expect to visit and where you want to finish. You do not need a fixed time for each stop, a reasonable estimate is enough. Bear in mind that at rush hour a trip across Barcelona can take approx. 20-40 minutes depending on traffic, and that time also counts towards the booked hours.

If during the day you need to change the order of your appointments or add a stop, tell the chauffeur and the route will be adjusted within the booked time. If you think you will need more hours than you booked, let us know as early as possible and we will confirm whether the service can be extended, subject to availability.

Vehicles and pricing for the hourly service

You can choose the Business category (Mercedes E-Class or Audi A6), the Top category (long-wheelbase Mercedes S-Class), Electric (Tesla Model S) or the Top-Van, a minivan for up to 8 passengers. For a day of meetings with one executive, Business is usually enough; for delegations or families, the Top-Van is more practical.

The price of the hourly service depends on the number of hours and the vehicle, and it is confirmed when you book. It does not work like a taxi with a meter: you know in advance what the booked time will cost. Companies can have the service invoiced by department, cost centre or reference, just like every other Autolux service.
